PROGRAM FORMAT

Four main themes have been selected; all of them will be presented in plenary sessions as well as round table discussions. This format will allow the participants to approach each theme in a different round table discussion from four different perspectives.

Thematic objectives

• Maternal mortality.
• Social determinants of health.
• Neglected diseases and mental health.
• Global policies and the right to health.

Panels and round tables

• Research (past and ongoing investigations).
• Monitoring.
• Advocacy .
• Community Participation.

At the plenary sessions and round tables, international and national experts will present. They will share their experiences and develop the thematic objectives identifying practical solutions and successful experiences.

Paul Hunt, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to the highest attainable standard of health, will hold the inaugural speech.
